Miami Short Film Festival

Miami Events

The Miami Short Film Festival is celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary at the historical Colony Theater on 1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach. The Festival, which started with a small number of films and a big dream by the Executive Director William Vela, this year received over 900 films from 50 different countries. Our exciting partnerships with the Miami New Times and the Conill Ad Agency are promising to make this year’s Festival an event not to be missed.

The Festival’s traditional program with all films in competition, will be held at the historical Colony Theater. On its opening night, MsFF has programmed a glorious selection of past winners and festival favorites, highlighting the excellence of material presented over the years.

MsFF believes it is vital to support the South Florida film community, and this year has reinvigorated the program “Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today” into a film school competition, hosted at the beautiful new Miami Beach Cinemateque. We have also added a new special screening of local films, “I’m Not Gonna Move to LA” at the incredibly fresh O Cinema. Our extended Outreach program includes free seminars, designed around the idea of a film-school in a week and some of the most interesting and successful Miami film industry professionals signed on to share their knowledge. We are excited to be working with local filmmakers, musicians and artists to fully explore the meaning of the world festival.

The MsFF team invites you to the Award Ceremonies at the Colony Theater, where they will announce the highly anticipated winners and will screen select “Best of Fest” films. This year’s festival aspires to excite, entertain and provide a venue for filmmakers to engage directly with media, audience and industry professionals. Join them in celebrating the art of the short film.
