The Hidden Kitchen
Michael B. Jacobs wears many hats in his role as Executive Chef at The Hidden Kitchen Restaurant where he specializes in “tiny tastes” served on slider-sized buns at the Imperial House Condo in Miami Beach. Popular with local foodies who join the chef for elegant private dining workshop events, his new slider menu is designed to appeal to a wider audience who can select from about a dozen creative sandwiches listed on a chalkboard menu at his sunlit seaside eatery. Says Jacobs of his bite-sized fare, “Sliders represent the way I like to eat – small, exciting food that allows you to try a bunch of different things…” While the fillings change frequently, the internet-savvy chef often posts photos of his latest creations on his Facebook page to lure fans and followers in for a new taste.

Currently serving lunch and dinner, Chef Jacob’s tiny buns are best at happy hour weeknights from 5:30-6:30pm which features half-priced wine and craft beer plus $2 bar bites. Because the multi-tasking chef also spends his days feeding considerably larger patrons (who just happen to play for the Miami HEAT), he likes to invite sports fans to join him for gameday drink deals whenever the HEAT, the Dolphins or the University of Miami games play on the restaurant’s two flat screen TVs. Weekend mornings from 11am to 4pm the kitchen serves a cozy brunch including crisp potato latkes topped with smoked salmon & poached eggs, duck confit mini waffles and gooey Monte Cristo sandwiches on eggy challah bread.
